Soul Path Series: Part III – Our Lifetimes in Lemuria & Taking Physical Form

The Soul Path series is an eight-article series by Sabriyé Dubrie of Soul Teachings on the origin of our Soul path ‘birth’ and our evolution into the (human) incarnation experience. Lemuria a long epoch

There is little evidence left of the exact dates of Lemuria but they are believed to have spanned over the Permian period 298.9 million years ago through the Triassic and into the Jurassic period as well as the Cretaceous and into the Eocene period which ended around 33.9 million years ago according to the book The Lost Lemuria – The Story of the Lost Civilization by William Scott-Elliot.

This means that the Lemurian period lasted 265 million years.

It took so long because it took us many lifetimes to densify our energies sufficiently to be able to incarnate into the physical. At the beginning of Lemuria, we lived in light cities and had light temples because we ourselves were still in the process of learning how to densify our energies to be able to take physical form. We were androgynous light beings, still very much according to our original Soul blueprint much like the other Star people that were on other planets described in part II of this series.

It is said that the galactic Star beings from Lyra assisted mankind in the start phase of Lemuria and Atlantis. Also, the Theosophy recognizes that the Lhas which were seen as a highly evolved human race of some system of evolution which had run its course at a period in the infinitely far-off past had come back to assist human evolution on planet Earth (see excerpt below).

‘They had reached a high stage of development on their chain of worlds, and since its dissolution had passed the intervening ages in the bliss of some Nirvanic condition. But their karma now necessitated a return to some field of action and of physical causes, and as they had not yet fully learned the lesson of compassion, their temporary task now lay in becoming guides and teachers of the Lemurian race, who then required all the help and guidance they could get.’ Source: page 36 The Lost Lemuria – The Story of the Lost Civilization by William Scott-Elliot

‘But other Beings also took up the task–in this case voluntarily. These came from the scheme of evolution which has Venus as its one physical planet. That scheme has already reached the Seventh Round of its planets in its Fifth Manvantara; its humanity therefore stands at a far higher level than ordinary mankind on this earth has yet attained. They are “divine” while we are only “human.” The Lemurians, as we have seen, were then merely on the verge of attaining true manhood. Physical but not actual humans

The New Age movement tends to over-romanticize the Lemurian and Atlantean civilizations and although they were still very much at One with Source and all that is, the Lemurians were much more like cavemen such as the Denisovans, Neanderthals, and other now-extinct early pre-human races. They were hardly the sages in the way they are at times portrayed by people with an overactive spiritual imagination (see excerpts below).

‘It may be as well again to repeat that the almost mindless creatures who inhabited such bodies as have been above described during the early sub-races of the Lemurian period can scarcely be regarded as completely human. ‘As stated in the stanzas of Dzyan above quoted, the men of that epoch, even though they had become completely physical, still remained speechless. Naturally, the astral and ethereal ancestors of this Third Root Race** had no need to produce a series of sounds in order to convey their thoughts, living as they did in astral and ethereal conditions, but when man became physical he could not for long remain dumb. We are told that the sounds which these primitive men made to express their thoughts were at first composed entirely of vowels. In the slow course of evolution, the consonant sounds gradually came into use, but the development of language from first to last on the continent of Lemuria never reached beyond the monosyllabic phase. I often explain to my clients that these early galactic and Earth lifetimes are our Soul path childhood, and just like children develop speech at a certain point in their development, we only developed a common spoken language when our Soul gifts such as telepathy started to wane as we incarnated deeper and deeper into the physical.

In the book, The Lost Lemuria – The Story of the Lost Civilization (pg 27) William Scott-Elliot states that the initial Lemurians had evolved from the Second Root Race that was etheric into the Third Root Race that was material but had pliable bones in the way young infants have them and it wasn’t until the middle of the Lemurian period that man developed a solid bony structure.

A child’s bones are more flexible because their chemical composition is different from that of adult bones. Source: Choa.org It would seem that for the early Lemurians, the chemical composition of their bones was different as well before they evolved into an ‘adult’ bone structure over time.

Life in Lemuria

It is often believed that the Lemurians and Atlanteans were advanced civilizations and although they might have developed as such throughout the millions of years that came after the Lemurian period, it wasn’t until the Atlantean period that the human race as we know it was born. Although the Lemurians were spiritually very advanced, their mental faculties were underdeveloped according to H.P. Blavatsky, who considered the Lemurians the Third Root Race (see excerpt below).

‘The mind of the late Third Root Race was young and innocent, and humans were more spiritual than intellectual. They developed a kind of nature-sound language to communicate with each other, but the essence of the communication between individuals was from mind to mind, by means of the spiritual “third eye” of which they were endowed. Because of this, the Third Root Race could perceive intuitively their connection with nature and the divine. In Blavatsky’s words: No sooner had the mental eye of man been opened to understanding, than the Third Race felt itself one with the ever-present as the ever to be unknown and invisible all, the One Universal Deity. Endowed with divine powers, and feeling in himself his inner God, each felt he was a Man-God in his nature, though an animal in his physical Self. Clients that I take back to their Lemurian lifetimes are often amazed at the level of Oneness they can still feel from those embodiments.

William Scott-Elliot in his book The Lost Lemuria – The Story of the Lost Civilization gives us insight into how the Lemurians, just like children needed to be taught everything by the Venusian Star beings that had come to assist them.

‘Under the guidance of their divine teachers (from Venus), the people began to learn the use of fire, and the means by which it could be obtained, at first by friction, and later on by the use of flints and iron. They were taught to explore for metals, to smelt and to mold them, and instead of spears of sharpened wood they now began to use spears tipped with sharpened metal.

They were also taught to dig and till the ground and to cultivate the seeds of wild grain till it improved in type. This cultivation carried on through the vast ages which have since elapsed has resulted in the evolution of the various cereals which we now possess–barley, oats, maize, millet, etc. But an exception must here be noted. Wheat was not evolved upon this planet like the other cereals. It was a gift of the divine beings who brought it from Venus ready for the food of man. Nor was wheat their only gift. The one animal form whose type has not been evolved on our chain of worlds is that of the bee. It, too, was brought from Venus.

The Lemurians now also began to learn the art of spinning and weaving fabrics with which to clothe themselves. These were made of the coarse hair of a species of animal now extinct, but which bore some resemblance to the llamas of today, the ancestors of which they may possibly have been. We have seen above that the earliest articles of clothing of Lemurian man were robes of skin stripped from the beasts he had slain. These skins he still continued to wear on the colder parts of the continent, but he now learned to cure and dress the skin in some rude fashion.

One of the first things the people were taught was the use of fire in the preparation of their food, and whether it was the flesh of animals they slew or the pounded grains of wheat, their modes of cooking were closely analogous to those we hear of as existing to-day among savage communities. With reference to the gift of wheat so marvelously brought from Venus, the divine rulers doubtless realized the advisability of at once procuring such food for the people, for they must have known that it would take many generations before the cultivation of the wild seeds could provide an adequate supply.

During the later part of the sixth, and the seventh sub-race they learned to build great cities. These appear to have been of cyclopean architecture, corresponding with the gigantic bodies of the race.’ Source: The Lost Lemuria – The Story of the Lost Civilization by William Scott-Elliot Lemurians were believed to be between twelve and fifteen feet tall. The Easter Island statues that on average stand 13 feet high are believed to have been built in their (the Lemurian’s) image.

The Merpeople

Although I couldn’t find any credible sources on Merpeople in Lemuria, I have had multiple clients see themselves as such in Lemuria. Within Soul Embodiment® Therapy, the object is never to just see individual past lives, as all past lives are part of a deeper pattern. The objective is also not sensationalism to be able to bang ourselves on the chest and say I was this or that special person or being in my past life, as this only fortifies the so-called spiritual ego.

It could even be that the things the subconscious shows us are not factual but metaphorical, it doesn’t matter either way because the most important aspect within each ‘lifetime’ is the deeper underlying story and how this connects to the pattern we are tracing on a Soul path level. One female client’s experience as a merman in Lemuria, for example, was being the last in his (her) species before his species went extinct. It was that feeling of an era-ending that was part of the overall pattern that we were tracing in her session and to which we found the original wound in a galactic lifetime.

Merpeople may not exist anymore and may perhaps have never existed the way they have been depicted throughout history, but there may be some truth to the folklore in our human evolution. It appears that humans share a common ancestor, albeit a long time ago, with fish.
