In this Soul teaching on the difference between old paradigm and new paradigm spirituality, you will learn:
- How to use discernment when choosing healers and healing modalities on your journey
- The truth about ‘false light’ teachings
- How new paradigm spirituality focuses on ‘oneness’ over duality
- Why you alone are responsible for your own healing
- And more…
The need for spiritual discernment
Also within the spiritual community all that glitters is not gold, people often aren’t who they say they are and products and services often don’t work the way people say they do. You need to be discerning, because there is a lot of wishful thinking going on that doesn’t always reflect the truth.
That being said, there is also absolute gold to be found on your spiritual journey and Ascension path and amazing teachers and healers to support you in this process. In this teaching I want to give you some tools to navigate your way through the shiny objects within the spiritual community, so that you can really find the gold that you are searching for.
It’s not my intention to be judgmental in the negative sense, but instead I want to invite you to look deeper. The word discernment actually means having or showing good judgement and the word judgment means the ability to make considered decisions or come to sensible conclusions – which is not a ‘bad’ or ego thing.
With this teaching I want to encourage you to look beyond the glitter and gold of the exterior layer, to learn to see for yourself if things really are what they claim to be. Because sadly, many things are not what they appear to be and getting lost in them doesn’t serve you.
Why you shouldn’t put someone on a pedestal
As soon as you put a healer or a spiritual teacher on a pedestal you give away your power, but you also set yourself up for disappointment. Both spiritual teachers and healers, are humans and will continue to also act as an imperfect human at times (as they are still on their own path of soul evolution as well).
This is bound to disappoint you if you have made someone into a demigod in your mind.
We also tend to create unrealistic expectations of someone that we put on a pedestal such as that they don’t curse, never drink alcohol, are vegan or vegetarian and so on. We project what we believe what it means to be spiritual onto the other person and expect them to conform to our expectations instead of simply being themselves.
It’s a trap for both the person being put on a pedestal and the person doing it, as it asks a lot from the healer or teacher not to subconsciously conform to the expectations of their clients and students. It pushes parts of them into the shadow, when they cannot be mere mortals anymore with their own set of guilty (yet innocent) pleasures. Plus it can feed the ego, to the point that one feels that certain rules and laws no longer apply to them, which we have seen happen in ashrams all across the world.
Gurus are part of the old paradigm spirituality, where we gave away our power to external authorities. In the new paradigm spirituality, we connect to our inner authority and look to what resonates externally that helps us connect deeper to our own internal soul truth – our own Divinity.
Is someone really who or what they say they are?
But let’s back up for a moment and focus on looking past the self promotion.
The latest buzz word for example within the spiritual community is to call yourself a shaman or call your work shamanic. Which sounds impressive….
But what does this really mean, to be a shaman?
It actually does not mean that much, because like the term coach or healer and yes even the term psychic – to be a shaman doesn’t require any formal education. Everyone can call themselves a shaman if they want to, because it is an unprotected occupation. Unlike occupations such as nurse, doctor, lawyer, psychologist and so on which are regulated fields of professions, you do not need to meet any requirements at all to call yourself a shaman, healer, psychic or a coach.
In my experience the people that really practice shamanism and are true shamans don’t call themselves this, nor seek to be seen as a shaman. True shamanic work goes really deep as it works multi-dimensionally. It’s not superficial.
This is also how you recognize a true shaman, though the depth of their work.
I recently had a session with someone who called herself a shaman. I had booked an appointment with her for something else, but then she told me that she had a special method to reset the fight or flight system which I was interested in. We did the session together and it was a breathing exercise followed by blowing your problems on a wooden ‘dagger’ (a cut in half wooden skewer) and then offering the ‘dagger’ to the fire. Needless to say that was a waste of money, as you can simply Google how to reset your nervous system through breath.
The same person also offered forgiveness work through Hoʻoponopono which is of course a beautiful prayer and practice, but you do not need to do this with a healer. You can do Hoʻoponopono on your own. When a healer comes with such a superficial solution, they don’t really have much in their healing toolbox.
I have encountered other healers in the past that come with such cookie cutter solutions, which tells me they don’t really have their own healing gifts.
I’m not dissing Hoʻoponopono, but it takes more than reciting four sentences to truly forgive someone. Often it takes a deeper understanding of the experience and the soul’s perspective to be able to see what the higher purpose of the experience was. This is something I help my clients see in the Soul Embodiment® Therapy sessions. After that a healer could ask someone to do Hoʻoponopono for an x period of time at home to support the forgiveness process or have them take the Bach Flower (do the Bach Flower test here) Willow to help them forgive deeper.
Anyone who only has Hoʻoponopono to offer, has not gone deep into the forgiveness process themselves and subsequently can’t take you there either. A healer can ONLY take you as far as they have ventured themselves.
So, don’t let yourself be dazzled by meaningless self-given titles.
The real question you need to ask is: ‘What results can I get from working with this person?‘
That’s the only thing that counts, the rest is nothing but hot air and wishful thinking.
Do they walk their talk?
Whether it involves a spiritual teacher or a healer, the question is do they walk their talk?
Do they practice what they preach? Many healers actually do not work on their own healing, which is of course quite strange. Because as a healer, you have loads of stuff within yourself that needs to be healed as well and the same applies to spiritual teachers – they need to work on their own healing too which I will explain deeper in the next section of this teaching.
I believe that it is important to walk your talk, which is why as a healer (healing facilitator) I continue to work with other healers in my own process. I am the embodied truth of what I offer my clients both as a healer and a teacher.
I also practice what I teach. During the winter I had brought a semi-precious stone to a jewelry artist at the Las Dalias hippy market in Ibiza to have it made into a necklace. After two weeks the jewelry artist sends me a WhatsApp message to apologize because she has misplaced my stone and couldn’t find it. Yikes! She had lost it.
Without missing a beat I told her to relax and that I believe that I cannot lose things that belong to me and that if it is mine to have – she will find it again.
She thanked me and promised me that she would keep looking.
This is also what I teach my students that we cannot lose the things or people that belong to us and that if we do, we will receive its equivalent or something better.
I checked in with her one time to see if she had found it and in the meantime I would affirm to myself every time I thought of the situation that ‘I cannot lose what is mine by Divine right, it will be restored to me. I will receive its equivalent or something better.‘ In the first week of May (five months later) I received a WhatsApp from her, a day after I had thought to myself that now would be a good time for her to find my stone. She was ecstatic because she had found my stone and would now start the process of making it into a piece of jewelry.
She also thanked me for my patience and compassion with her.
I didn’t become angry with her. I didn’t make her feel bad. I didn’t worry about the stone (a Cobalto Calcite), even though I was really excited to be able to wear it, as it helps cleanse the soul.
I simply practiced what I preached and the stone was restored to me.
This is not to claim being perfect because I am not. I also still lose my temper sometimes, not so much with my teenage son but instead with my mother (who lives with me) when she goes into certain patterns that push my buttons. A spiritual teacher or healer does not need to be perfect, but they should walk their own talk if they want to inspire others to do so as well.
How unresolved trauma plays into it all
Our spiritual journey is directly affected by the level of unresolved trauma that we still carry with us. I’ll tell you why, because trauma creates a filter through which we interpret our reality according to our wounds.
Trauma obscures our soul truth.
You may think that if you had a relatively happy childhood, and can’t remember anything traumatic happening to you that you don’t carry unresolved trauma with you.
But this is not true.
If you are human, you carry unresolved trauma with you whether it’s your personal trauma, collective trauma or trauma that you inherited from your maternal or paternal lineage (aka transgenerational trauma). Trauma doesn’t always come from big traumatic experiences, trauma can also arise from normal everyday situations.
In the book The Healing Code by Alex Loyd he shares a story about a woman who could not land a promotion at work because of a childhood incident that involved a popsicle. You see, even everyday normal parenting situations can still cause trauma that limits us and influences how we interpret our experiences.
So everyone has unresolved trauma, it’s part of the human condition.
The more we heal this unresolved trauma, the more clearer our spiritual perception becomes.
After all we are spiritual beings having a human experience and not the other way around. It is our unresolved trauma however that has us subconsciously identifying with the false self, our wounded ego/personality.
Only when we heal the wounded aspects that we subconsciously identify with, can we truly embody our soul essence and be the enlightened being that we inherently are. Which is why also spiritual teachers and healers HAVE TO work on their own healing, when they fail to do this it inevitably bleeds through in their personal interactions, work and/or teachings.
The truth about ‘false light’ teachings
Let me give you a real-life example of this.
I woke up recently to a message in my inbox from someone I know from the Twin Flame scene asking me for a collaboration, not realizing I am shifting away from this industry. Apparently he and his partner who had claimed to be in Twin Flame union, had broken up and he mentioned she had started a new healing business. Interested in what she was doing these days, I went to go take a look.
I was quite surprised when I read through her new website.
She now offered sessions to help people cut the cords with the false light Twin Flame template, that according to her had been injected into the spiritual community by negative intruder races (aliens?) to hijack the human Ascension process.
Massive eyeroll over here, because this is basically a spiritual version of conspiracy thinking. A hidden galactic agenda, to obstruct humans from waking up to their true Divinity?!
It sounds fear-based to me, which I believe we are supposed to be shifting out of, not shift deeper into…, but more on that later.
Like I said, I know this couple and I got a close look at their relationship dynamics at the beginning of their so called Twin Flame ‘union’. It was not pretty and definitely unhealthy. I also know that the woman (the healer) hardly worked on her own healing back then. She made and sold Twin Flame activations, that were supposed to heal you from everything under the sun – just by listening to them.
I worked religiously with these activations at the beginning of my own Twin Flame journey, until I realized that you can’t heal like this. You can’t mindset trauma away, or tell it to shoo and be gone. You can’t bypass your unresolved pain.
Reading her new product description now, it was really clear that she had written it from her own unresolved pain around her Twin Flame experience. She went from a Twin Flame couple being in union teaching others how to come into union, to saving people from their Twin Flame ‘delusions’. That’s a complete 180 she did there, what was once 100% true had now become 100% false in her eyes.
Basically it came down to if, after everything you tried, your person still treats you badly it’s because the Twin Flame template is a energy harvesting and siphoning system that has been injected into the spiritual community by negative Intruder races. This according to her creates a artificial soul connection with a person who acts as a portal to break you down, and devastate you over and over so that the Negative Entities can feed off of your emotional energy.
When do you get devastated over and over again? When you are in an abusive relationship.
To many people with similar wounding this will sound 100% true, to others it will absolutely not resonate. The reason why it probably feels true for her, is because she just came out of an abusive and controlling relationship. Even back then when I knew her, I warned her that his behavior of trying to isolate her, was typical abusive behavior to allow the abuser maximum control over the person they are abusing.
This is a clear example of someone ‘teaching’ from their own wounding. Through the lens of her own trauma her current interpretation of the Twin Flame phenomenon makes more sense to her than simply admitting to herself that she subconsciously attracted an abusive partner because it matched her unresolved trauma. But, because she has now externalized her problem (blamed a negative intruder race) she can’t actually heal her own subconscious wounding that pulled this person into her life to begin with. Until she does address the underlying trauma, she will continue to repeat this dynamic in her intimate relationships.
Blaming external forces only keeps her from healing the true cause of her issues.
The problem I have with ‘false light’ teachings in general, whether they are Twin Flame related or not is that they seem to do exactly that what they say ‘false light’ teachings do without offering a concrete alternative or solution. They say that the ‘false light’ teachings are twisted truths that keep us from truly accessing our Ascension, but it never gets past a battle of the light vs. the dark.
A battle between good and evil, and the evil corrupting the good in order to mislead us.
That’s a pretty old story that goes all the way back to the Bible and the story of Adam and Eve, where the serpent tricked Eve into taking a bite from the apple. But as I have explained in an earlier teaching on this subject, this story has been grossly misinterpreted throughout time. We were always meant to descend into the physical and experience duality.
However, those who believe in so called ‘false light’ teachings believe that because, we currently live in duality that ALL creation is based in duality – but that isn’t the case.
We experience duality here because the default human state at this moment is based in separation consciousness. Creation itself and the higher dimensions, the fifth dimension and up are based in unity consciousness, where there is no longer a polarity between good and evil in the way it is perceived when one is still in separation consciousness.
“Nothing evil exists in itself, but only as an evil aspect of some actual entity. Therefore, there can be nothing evil except something good.” Augustine of Hippo
There can be no shadow without the light, but at the same time the darkness ceases to exist in the light. As soon as you bring the light into the dark, there is no more dark and only light. The darkness is nothing, but the absence of light. It’s not a separate entity with its own agenda or power.
It’s the people warning for so called ‘false light‘ teachings, that actually keep people stuck in the old paradigm of separation consciousness, thus doing exactly what they accuse ‘false light’ teachings of, obscuring the truth and obstructing the Ascension process.
Is it old spirituality dressed up as new spirituality?
Our current reality is extremely polarized at the moment, where the world seems to be divided into two camps. This is because we are ramping up to collectively shift paradigms and if you look closely, you can clearly see an old and a new reality. This is also true for spirituality.
In this moment in time as we are shifting out of the old 3D paradigm (Piscean Age) into the new 5th dimensional reality (Aquarian Age or Golden age). We are shifting out of fear into love, out of separation into unity, out of scarcity into abundance, out of suffering into joy and so on.
Yet because we are currently mid in that shift, there is still a lot of old spirituality being dressed up as new spirituality. Which is why spiritual discernment is so important at this time because not everything is what it seems, you have to look deeper to really see the truth.
For example the healer now selling ‘false light’ Twin Flame clearings, does so under a website name that talks about the Divine Feminine returning. It looks like she is embodying new spirituality, but in reality it’s just a variation of the old paradigm dressed up as the new.
It’s still fear-based, based in separation (us vs them) and with the need of an intermediary to bring in new codes (also such a buzzword recently) to create a done for you type of healing.
Basically it’s the same as psychics clearing your blocks and energy, but now given more New Agey type terms to describe it. Old paradigm spirituality and healing may use all the right words and phrases, so that it looks like its new paradigm spirituality and healing but if the solution is someone magicking away all your problems, then it’s still the same old paradigm solutions.
There is nothing new about it, witch doctors, gypsies and psychics have been peddling the same hoax for ages. It stems from a belief in personal powerlessness and the need for an external ‘savior’.
Old paradigm spirituality is based in the idea that there is good and evil. That you need to protect yourself against the dark forces. That you need to pray or practice certain disciplines or rituals to attain enlightenment or spiritual favors from an external God. In old paradigm spirituality, one is either cut off from their own Divinity and power or one is ultra powerful and believes they have God-like powers. It’s always one or the other polarity on either side of the same spectrum.
Within new paradigm spirituality one believes that All is one, that everything is always happening for our highest good. That there is only ONE power and that is love or good, therefore there can be no opposite. Both duality and separation are an illusion or māyā as it is known in Vedic scriptures. One believes that man (m/f) is the powerful creator of its own reality, instead of a victim of fate. That we are already Divine, and only caught up in the illusion of being separated from the Divine and our own Divinity. That returning back to Oneness is a self-driven process that does use external resources but does not depend on external forces.
The difference between the old paradigm and the new paradigm, is like the difference between night and day. The old paradigm believes in two powers, while the new paradigm only sees one. The old paradigm looks through the lens of separation, while the new paradigm looks through the lens of unity. The old paradigm runs on fear, while the new paradigm is based in love.
This same dichotomy is visible in old paradigm and new paradigm healing. Compared to only a decade ago, the healing tools available to us now are so much more powerful than that previous generations had access to. Yet, there is still a lot of old paradigm healing going on, that is based in wishful thinking, superficial methods and a healer so called ‘healing’ you for you.
New paradigm healing is about making the subconscious conscious, unravelling our ancestral, past life, inner child, current life and collective wounding so that we can heal deep patterns and survival mechanisms that keep us stuck in the identification with the wounded ego (mortal personality) and out of fully embodying our immortal soul (Ascension).
This deep healing work facilitates the waking up to the truth of who we really are and embodying our soul truth in the physical. Spiritual teachers and healers can assist you in this process (to the extent that they have done this for themselves), but NO ONE can do this for you.
You and you alone are responsible for peeling back the layers that are covering your true nature, you cannot outsource this responsibility to anyone else. The new paradigm is fully reclaiming our soul sovereignty (another buzzword), but this is only possible from a state of Oneness (aka inner union with our own soul).
I pray this teaching serves you and helps you become more aware of the paradigm shift currently taking place in our reality and how it affects various different aspects such as spirituality, healing, love relationships or how we do business, and so on.
It’s only logical that remnants of the old, are still mixing in with the new as we release our old states of consciousness deeper and deeper while at the same time unlocking new states of consciousness and being. This is what always happens when we go from the old to the new, becoming more conscious of what the old feels and looks like and what the new is bringing in. This helps us in letting go of what we know and what feels safe, in order to open up to the new and unfamiliar which automatically trips our survival mechanisms as we venture outside of our comfort zone.
This is such an exciting time to be alive, to be pioneers that are able to witness this entry into a new age, a new paradigm and a new reality in which we are able to physically embody our innate Divinity. This is the true Ascension process, which is not about leaving this planet or the body, but instead about fully anchoring our soul in the physical.
With my deepest love,
