This morning I went to my acupuncturist whom I had not seen in a couple of weeks. He told me that we were in the year of the Water Tiger (Chinese New Year was Tuesday, February 1, 2022) which lasts until January 21st, 2023. If you Google ‘The year of the Water Tiger’ you will find a lot of general information about this year. He told me some special information about the upcoming year as he said that it was a year of change and of the ability to find resolution to our biggest challenges or struggles.
He advised me to break routines, do things differently, move the furniture around to help break deeply conditioned patterns inside. Change up everything, where you go to walk, the restaurants you go to eat, the color of your hair. Because by doing things differently, we can see things differently, which allows us to approach life differently.

Aside from needles to ‘up the energy’ as he puts it to help me recover after having the flu recently, he put needles in two less commonly used acupuncture spots named the ‘Spirit Gate’ and the ‘Gate of Life’ or also called the ‘Gate of Destiny’ to help me in my spiritual healing process. I found two small excerpts that I linked with their sources to explain the metaphysical powers of these points.

Who knew acupuncture went this deep?! I didn’t. despite the fact that I have been getting acupuncture for the past 20+ years or so. But, I am happy to now have an acupuncturist that explains to me these special points that I don’t think any previous practitioners ever needled before.
It just goes to show you that you always get the support at the level that you need in every stage in life. Twenty and more years ago I think one of my first experiences with acupuncture was to help me quit smoking, which was successful but yeah that was where I was at back then – willing to let go of the smokescreen that helped me not see how much my life sucked! I got divorced shortly after because now I was willing to admit that this man was not going to change, not for me and not for our children. I worked hard on myself in the years since then and now the acupuncture I am getting is helping me unlock my true soul essence.
