Twin Flames and Stepping Into Soul Mission, What Is Your Unique Gift to the World?

Twin Flame mission, what’s the deal?

We hear a lot about Twin Flame mission or meet people trying to discover their mission but what is it all about? In this teaching I will highlight the different aspects of stepping into mission and explain what it really means. Plus I will discuss aspects of living your mission that you may have never thought about or heard anyone else talk about.

But first let’s get the first misunderstanding out of the way, your stepping into mission does not depend on your Twin Flame in ANY way. You can step into your mission no matter what your twin is or often ISN’T doing. It doesn’t matter if your twin refuses to talk to you or if he or she is romantically involved with someone else. NONE of that needs to stop you in doing what YOU came here to do, unless you allow it to. In other words that you allow yourself to become so emotional, that you become crippled by it. Then you need to work on your own inner healing first (we will come back to this later).

The second misunderstanding is that stepping into mission, is a joint mission with the twin and it’s not. Collectively, Twin Flames do come in to assist in the overall Ascension process of planet Earth and all it’s inhabitants, but this is a soul mission ALL Twin Flames share. However, your mission is your mission alone and you may have a joint mission with your Twin Flame, but until you have fully stepped into your own mission chances are that things will not come together with your twin – simply because you are meant to do what you came here to do first. As well as fulfilling this task, that is yours and yours alone is what actually prepares you to be able to be part of a power couple team and a joint mission. It doesn’t work the other way around.

The third misunderstanding is that your mission has to be either spiritual or Twin Flame related, that is certainly not true. There are way too many psychics and tarot readers as it is, please find something else to do with your psychic abilities and divination skills – unless this is really 100% your calling then of course go ahead. But as you will see in the examples below, mission is not ONLY a Twin Flame thing and it doesn’t even have to be spiritual. Open and stretch your mind to ALL the possibilities available to you, because your soul may surprise you – mine certainly surprised me….

You have to be ready to release your romantic notions

Seriously, If you want to step into your mission you have to let go of your romantic notions. Mission is about serving the world and the people that are waiting for you to show up and share with the world, that which ONLY you can share with us. It has very little to do with you and your twin ending up together romantically.

It also has very little to do with your romantic notions of you and your twin healing, saving, rescuing, or any other form of heroic deeds directed at the world or a subgroup of it’s inhabitants. These scenarios make for wonderful romantic daydreams, but in the end this is just the ego creating fantasies that may not serve the highest good of all involved.

Because we are multidimensional beings, your Twin Flame may be assisting you in your mission as we speak while simultaneously not giving you the time of day in your physical reality. Stretch your mind and your thinking to the possibilities beyond what we can comprehend with our limited conception of reality. The Twin Flame process is such a soul process, there is much more going on than that the eye can see.

The presence or absence of romance really doesn’t influence your capacity to show up in the world, the way you need to. Unless like I mentioned before you allow yourself to get caught up in the drama of it all and allow it to disempower you.

Getting clear on what mission actually looks like

Also here it’s important to let go of any preconceived notions, because your unique mission doesn’t need to be Twin Flame related, it doesn’t need to be ‘spiritual’, nor does it have to be something you already do although everything you are currently doing is prepping you for the fulfillment of your mission.

For example Aletta Jacobs who was the first woman in the Netherlands to receive a higher education. Which made it possible for other women, such as my grandmother on my father’s side to go to the university and become a physician.

From her work with poor women, Jacobs recognized that repeated pregnancies, year after year, was not only impacting mothers’ health, but causing high rates of infant mortality.^[20] Her contact with prostitutes led her to learn about and study sexually transmitted diseases, of which she had not previously been aware.^[9] In developing solutions for these women, Jacobs became convinced that reliable contraception would alleviate suffering and economic hardship resulting from too many children. Furthermore, it would improve the social welfare of society at large, preventing overpopulation.^[9][20] After reading an article by Wilhelm Mensinga [de] on occlusive pessaries, Jacobs wrote to him, embarking on a lengthy correspondence. Convinced that diaphragms would help her patients, she performed a clinical trial across a mixed sampling of her clients.^[21] Finding the trial was successful, she introduced the method of birth control (still widely known to English speakers as the Dutch Cap) in the Netherlands^[2][22] and began counseling women on its use.^[11]

This is a perfect example of a mission that is not spiritual in nature at all, there is zero woo-woo factor here and yet this woman changed the fate of many women of her time and changed our way of thinking about the place of women in our society. History knows countless examples of people who have had a huge impact and not always directly – meaning fulfilling our mission isn’t always a conscious action.

For example Jyoti Singh who was gang rapped in Delhi in 2012 and so brutally attacked that she died of her injuries.

The 2012 Delhi gang rape case involved a rape and fatal assault that occurred on 16 December 2012 in Munirka, a neighbourhood in South Delhi. The incident took place when a 23-year-old female physiotherapy intern Jyoti Singh^[3] was beaten, gang raped, and tortured in a private bus in which she was travelling with her friend, Awindra Pratap Pandey. There were six others in the bus, including the driver, all of whom raped the woman and beat her friend. Eleven days after the assault, she was transferred to a hospital in Singapore for emergency treatment but succumbed to her injuries two days later.^[4][5] The incident generated widespread national and international coverage and was widely condemned, both in India and abroad. Subsequently, public protests against the state and central governments for failing to provide adequate security for women took place in New Delhi, where thousands of protesters clashed with security forces. Similar protests took place in major cities throughout the country. Since Indian law does not allow the press to publish a rape victim’s name, the victim was widely known as Nirbhaya, meaning “fearless”, and her struggle and death became a symbol of women’s resistance to rape around the world.^[6]As a result of the protests, in December 2012, a judicial committee was set up to study and take public suggestions for the best ways to amend laws to provide quicker investigation and prosecution of sex offenders.

Although Jyoti died because of it and didn’t consciously attempt to change the society she lived in, her experience and the outrage it sparked in other men and women around the world created such a movement that it changed the judicial laws of her country. Of the men that raped her one died in police custody, the other was sentenced as a minor and the remaining four will be hanged to death this month (eight years later). Although there is still lots of room for improvement, Jyoti’s story changed the discussion because like many cultures India was still playing the victim blaming game – connecting sexual assault to women provoking it through their clothing and behavior which excuses men to take responsibility for their own behavior.

As you can see from these examples and there are of course also plenty of male examples to choose from like for example Rodney King that changed societies status quo or someone such as Louis Pasteur who saved millions of lives through his lifework which includes pasteurization named after him. Mission is about creating an impact in the world that can be large or small, it can be direct or indirect, it can be spiritual or non-spiritual. It’s simply your contribution to the whole, it’s what your soul wants to contribute to our collective evolution.

This does not have to be a grand contribution though, to be of huge significance. Just look at bees, on the surface they seem to have little other significance to human beings except that they make honey which we enjoy eating. Yet, scientific research tells us that the extinction of bees will be the end of humanity! Don’t believe me? Read this article here. Your mission DOES NOT have to be as grand as any of the ones mentioned above, to create a huge impact just like the bees do simply by being a bee.

Are you in it for the fame and glory?

But one thing that you do need to check in at the door is your ego, when it comes to living your soul mission. If you are in it for the fame and glory, the money, the recognition or the validation – guess what? You will find all of these elements painfully lacking from your physical reality.

Do you want to know why?

Because you are seeking them outside of yourself, which never works. We can only find without (outer reality) what we have first found within, inside ourselves.

Fame, recognition, validation, money and so on are a natural RESULT of living your mission, so it’s only logical that you unlock them through living your mission first. Mission is about serving, fame, recognition, validation and money is about getting your egoistic (ego is neither bad or good) needs met. These are 3D things, that matter little to the soul or outside of your current embodiment. Living your mission, is fulfilling that which your soul came to do in this lifetime. When we follow the call and path of our soul, everything we need, to fulfill our calling will be given to us.

Just to name a few examples; think of Neale Donald Walsh who was homeless prior to his successful series conversations with God. Or Eckhart Tolle also homeless before the power of the Now and what about Byron Katie and the Work? She had hit rock bottom before becoming a multi millionaire through her simple but effective teachings that has changed millions of peoples lives all over the world. Money, fame, recognition and so on are not a bad thing, it simply can’t be your motivation when aligning to what your soul came to contribute in this lifetime.

Stepping into your mission is a soul process and not an ego process and therefor, your alignment has to be to your soul because the ego is simply conditioned to always think ‘me first!’ What’s in it for me? The ego is not interested in serving the world, it’s interested in serving itself and so this is not the aspect of you that is going to get you into living your mission. But let’s also be very real with each other here, if you give and give and don’t create earthly channels of return of energy including money I will guarantee you that you will have stopped living your mission in less than two months because that is the maximum time that a human can live without food.

I will also tell you that you surviving on next to nothing, doesn’t serve you or the people you serve, because you will simply deplete yourself which many spiritual entrepreneurs do and guess what? You are your mission. If you hardly function or stop functioning that is the end of your mission. Many so called spiritual awakened people suffer spiritual ego and have this like combination of martyr and savior syndrome wrapped into one. Charging too little for your services doesn’t make you holier or more spiritual, it just makes you more exhausted and less able to really give the best of yourself to the people that work with you.

Finding out what your mission is requires full surrender

Stepping into mission is very similar to progressing on your Twin Flame journey, it calls for COMPLETE surrender to your higher self. Remember stepping into mission is a soul process, not an ego driven one.

In fact your mission chooses you more than ‘you’ choose it. This is because your soul already knows what it came here to do and your 3D and ego self may need some catching up to do, in order to get with the program.

In my case I can see how everything in my life has prepared me for my role as a Twin Flame leader, but it wasn’t an easy breezy mission to step into – i’ll tell you that. I was prompted in the fall of 2016 to focus ONLY on Twin Flames and I heeded the call. I went from business and online marketing coaching into coaching and offering healing sessions to Twin Flames. Because I owned a web design company anyway at that time, I re-branded the website and launched in the third week of January 2017 (re-branding usually takes a couple of months). I sent my first Twin Flame newsletter out on a Friday and it was about staying committed to the Twin Flame journey even when your twin was with someone else…..

I woke up that Friday morning remembering a vivid dream of my Twin Flame being with me during the night and explaining to me that he was getting married to a girl his family chose for him, but that he would love me forever. In the dream itself I was at complete peace, with this news – to the extent that it surprised me how at peace I felt with it. When I woke up, I was freaking out and half way through the morning I get a Skype message from the Skype bot saying my twin is on Skype and if I wanted to say hi….

Two days later I wake up to my phone blasting with messages and pictures found on mutual friends timelines of my twin’s wedding. There were so many people that could have warned me, but no one did. My twin was the one giving me the heads up in the dream, something he has continued to do over the years. But that dream actually softened the blow for me, because I remembered how at peace I felt in the dream. I knew that this was shown to me for a reason.

That’s how stepping into my mission went for me and this was the Universe’s version of a litmus test, because if I had been in this for my ego – I would have stopped right then and there. Boy, did I look like a fool or at least felt like one, but I knew that was only my human side and because I had gotten so many signs and synchs that this was the path I was meant to walk I surrendered and simply applied everything that I had been taught spiritually.

Trust had been such a BIG issue for both me and my twin, not to trust each other – but to trust ourselves and so I committed to trusting myself and my inner guidance even more. Many other people would have given up on their Twin Flame journey right here or would have decided that this must have been a ‘false’ twin experience. Instead I decided to trust the process and let go of my preconceived notions of what the Twin Flame experience IS or what I want it to be.

Which is what surrendering comes down to, but I sure did not get that right the first time. It has been an ever deepening process of letting go deeper and deeper. Letting go of the romantic outcome, letting go of the twin, letting go of preconceived notions – it’s not a one time thing. You have to surrender over and over again. But that is what makes me the Twin Flame leader that I am, I am here to document and bring forth the truth – to help people release the fantasy and really grasp what this process has come to achieve in your life. I couldn’t have done that, without being willing to face the truth no matter what in my own Twin Flame connection.

Because your mission picks you and not the other way around, also you stepping into mission will take the same level of effort and surrender and may like mine come out of left field. I never in my life expected to be doing what I am doing now. I have known about Twin Flames since I was nine and never EVER did I think when I grow up, I want to be a Twin Flame teacher, healer and leader. It never crossed my mind, not once. But I would have NEVER become the teacher, healer and leader that I am now, without my own Twin Flame journey going the way it has. Otherwise I would have been like everyone else peddling Twin Flame union as the ultimate outcome of this journey and it’s not.

Becoming who you are and were always meant to be is the highest outcome and that aligns you to Twin Flame union as well if that’s part of your soul contract – but more spectacular than the romance is the opportunity to BECOME your true soul self. The real you who has been buried under layers of wounding throughout eons and eons which is why past life work such as I offer in the Soul Embodiment™ Therapy Journeys™ is such an important part of the inner work we have to do, because it helps us release our deepest buried gunk and sludge that is keeping us out of alignment to our soul and our Divine plan.

Embracing your unique gift, is not as easy as you think

Which brings us to the aspect of your unique gift, many people have similar fairy-tale expectations around living their mission and sharing their unique gift with the world, as they have about their Twin Flame. But that is not usually how this stuff goes down, instead there can be a lot of inner (and subsequently outer) resistance towards both your mission and your unique gift.

I mentioned earlier that I have known about Twin Flames since I was nine and no I am not in my early thirties, I am a bit older so back then the concept of Twin Flames wasn’t as mainstream as it is today. However I grew up in the Summit Lighthouse organisation, also known as the Church Universal and Triumphant with Elizabeth Clare Prophet one of the first Twin Flame and Ascension teachers of this time. She and her husband Mark are Twin Flames and they taught on that subject, as a nine year old I wasn’t that interested in love relationships but Elizabeth also channeled the Ascended Masters and many of them were of course together with their Divine counterpart – their Twin Flame.

The thing is that Elizabeth considerably lost it at the end and was diagnosed with Alzheimer, but that was after she had one of the largest private bunkers built in Montana and had convinced thousands of her followers that a nuclear fall-out was about to happen and that everyone needed to move to Montana to survive and be safe. I had been sent to my father in the Netherlands at that time and my mother fired on by everything going on there would call me on a regular basis to tell me that I had to be on this or that side of the equator before this or that date to survive. My father thought my mother was an idiot and neither of them adequately reacted to the situation, which left me feeling that I was trapped like a rat – leading to panic attacks and depression by the age of 16.

With that example fresh in mind, I was not chomping at the bit to follow in Elizabeth’s footsteps – not even in my own way. Part of my being able to step into my mission was releasing my resentment and judgement towards Elizabeth and forgiving her. It was just one of the many obstacles that I had to overcome to be able to really step into my role as leader, Because Elizabeth had showed me how dangerous it is to lead people in the ‘wrong’ direction.

But also my unique gift rubbed me the wrong way at first. When I came back from India in late 2015 after meeting my Twin Flame in real life for the first time (we had met online in the beginning of 2014), I was suddenly capable of bringing people into their past lives. I didn’t have any current life trauma standing in the way, but I did have some past life trauma which included being unrightfully committed to a mental asylum by my family in a lifetime in which I was a man. I had been very eccentric, not crazy but instead a visionair seeking to create a better world – which got me a one way ticket to the loony bin.

So, at first I did not feel comfortable writing about past lives and all that was connected to it. I had to tell myself over and over again that I was safe now. I was also very grateful that my oldest children from my narcissisticly prone first ex-husband were not little anymore. He would have had a field day in court using all my work against me, not for the children’s sake but to get back at me for leaving him, which has been his sole (not soul) mission since I filed for divorce over two decades ago. But nothing happens without a reason and this current life witch hunt, was nothing but a bleed through of a previous lifetime in which my now ex-husband, but then a government official in that life, had accused me of witchcraft and my twin who was my lover  had to light the stake I was being burnt on – in order to show his allegiance to the government that he was employed by.

The reason I share this in such detail is to make you aware of the fact that we always bring ourselves and our experiences (including unhealed trauma) to everything we do and this will either hold us back or will serve as a springboard to overcome it once and for all. Stepping into your mission and being brave enough to share your unique gift with the world, is going to bring up all the past life and current life trauma in which you were silenced, killed, punished and so on for raising your head above the parapet.

Heal thyself first!

Which brings us to the final aspect of stepping into your mission and sharing your unique gift with the world, take time to heal yourself first. Here is why, the deeper you heal from both current life as well as past life trauma, the more the ego/personality becomes whole. This wholeness is imperative to the inner union with your soul.

Now going back to the quote by dr. Edward Bach (Bach flower remedies) that I started this teaching with; it’s when the three aspects of the self can work in unison (unity or one), that the result is perfect happiness and perfect health or better said perfect alignment.

The more you heal yourself, the more clearer your soul and higher self can come through. They are no longer being shouted out by the traumatized ego and personality that did not understand the experiences the soul chose to go through. The more your soul can come through, the deeper you can step into your soul mission and align to all that is yours by Divine right.

You do not have to be 100% healed to serve the world, but at the same time there are so many people out there wanting to serve the world (for ego reasons) that have insufficiently faced their own dragons and demons within themselves. When they do open shop and offer their services, they take their wounding with them and this always bleeds through in their work with their clients. Remember, you are your mission and everything that is still left unresolved within you is brought with you into your mission. Clients will trigger these wounds as well, so stay open to grow, stay humble and keep working on yourself. Because stepping into your mission, is simply part of your soul’s evolution – it’s another vehicle the soul uses to align deeper and deeper to the union within, with the self.

Since stepping into mission in 2016 I have been asked to step into mission deeper another two times, all times that I did step into my mission more deeply my Twin Flame refused to give me the time of day. We have had wonderful times of re-connection in between, but not at the times that I was being asked to step up. I had to step up anyway, regardless of the status of my own Twin Flame connection. You have to be willing to abandon all, to follow the calling of your soul.

Which reminds me of this video of the Menstruation man in India who lost his wife and was slandered by his neighbors when he decided he was going to revolutionize the menstrual pad industry to prevent Indian women from unhygienic solutions to their periods…

Truly living one’s soul mission often asks us to make sacrifices, to overcome obstacles and to stick to the soul’s plan (our Divine plan) no matter what the outer conditions may be. When we do, we align to that which is ours by Divine right. Overcoming our ego, is simply a part of the process, as is learning to believe in yourself when nobody else does (yet).

I pray this teaching helps you in stepping into your own soul mission and sharing your unique gift with the world. As you can see, doing so does not come without it’s own challenges but it is exactly those challenges and overcoming them, that aligns you deeper to your soul mission and to all that is your by Divine right. If your soul purpose eludes you at the moment, keep working on peeling back the layers that are covering your true nature. Keep working towards the deeper alignment with your soul and your inner union within the self, in time your path will be shown to you and this is often done step by step. You are brought in position as quickly or as slowly as you are ready to handle and able to integrate. Simply, trust the process.
